Energy Assistance Expo Held in Glassboro

An event in Gloucester County gave those in need the opportunity to connect with resources to help keep them safe and warm.

On Wednesday, January 30th, officials with South Jersey Gas hosted an Energy Assistance Expo in Glassboro to help those who are having trouble paying their utility bills get they help they need.

Along with South Jersey Gas officials, there were also representatives from Atlantic City Electric, NJ Shares, and Gateway Community Action.

Officials say the goal of the event is to connect community members who may be in financial crisis with the resources available and the services that they may qualify for.

"I hope they feel like we're here for them," said Christina Teel, customer outreach program specialist, South Jersey Gas, "and that we're doing our best to make sure that they are taken care of in regards to their bills, as well as their households and their livelihood."
