Each year, on the third Wednesday of September, ShopRite stores throughout the Northeast celebrate ShopRite Partners In Caring Help Bag Hunger Day. This storewide event invites local dignitaries in the surrounding community to join ShopRite associates in a day of bagging groceries at the cash register. The invited guests take on the job of a cashier by wearing aprons and bagging groceries- all to bring awareness to the ongoing issue of hunger in our local communities. This day is nationally recognized by governors and state legislatures across the size states ShopRite services including New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. Glassboro Mayor John Wallace, Councilman Andrew Halter and Councilwoman Anna Miller along with Freeholder Heather Simmons participated by bagging groceries and getting to know residents better.
Zallie Supermarkets is proud to honor this day at each of their seven store locations including Williamstown, Chews Landing, Sicklerville, West Berlin, Laurel Hill, Glassboro, and West Deptford. Customers were encouraged to come out and show their support at ShopRite of Glassboro on Wednesday, September 19th and cheer on their local police, fire department, first responders, governor, and other community leaders as they bring awareness to their ongoing issue of hunger.Read More
