Glassboro is celebrating 29 years of sharing information and fellowship with residents during CommUNITY Day

 

GLASSBORO, NEW JERSEY --- The Borough of Glassboro is excited to kick off the summer season with a community celebration. The Annual CommUNITY Day will be held on Saturday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Town Square. This event is expected to draw over 3,000 attendees who will enjoy games, food, community information, and entertainment.

This free community event will take place rain or shine and is open to all ages. Festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade down Rowan Blvd. led by the Glassboro High School Marching Band.

A Professional Pace, a Glassboro business, will be offering free haircuts for kids. Additionally, there will be 50 vendors on site selling artisan goods, food, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Entertainment will include performances by Creative Glassboro’s Children's Theatre and Glassboro High School’s Choir. The Kid’s Zone will feature free face painting, an obstacle course, and basketball pickup games with the Glassboro Police Athletic League (PAL). Attendees will also can learn about various charitable and non-profit organizations and the services they provide.

Complimentary parking will be available in all Glassboro lots and Nexus garages. The event is made possible by sponsors including The Borough of Glassboro, Nexus Properties, ABCO Credit Union, ERA Young Realty, Acenda Integrated Health, Renewal by Andersen, and Glassboro Child Development Centers.

Council President Anna Miller expressed, "CommUNITY Day is not just an event; it’s a celebration of the incredible diversity and culturally rich community that Glassboro is. “We hope everyone will find something to enjoy at CommUNITY Day and then come back to the borough often to attend other events and patronize our downtown restaurants and businesses.”
