GLASSBORO, NEW JERSEY ---The Glassboro Police Department is excited to announce that the annual fundraiser, Paws for a Cause, has been scheduled for June 6th at South Delsea Drive Park. Traditionally held in the fall, the 2025 Paws for the Cause event promises to deliver the same sense of community and camaraderie that residents have come to expect.
A unique take on National Night Out, Paws for the Cause is a family friendly event, with a with a focus on fostering police-community partnerships and creating safer, more compassionate neighborhoods.
“Every year, Paws for a Cause is an opportunity for the Glassboro community and our public safety agencies to come together and strengthen relationships" said Chief Ryan Knight of the Glassboro Police Department. Chief Knight added, “Paws for a Cause is an important event to build a better sense of community and togetherness.”
This year, the beneficiary of the event will be the Glassboro Child Development Center. Glassboro Child Development Center offers childcare services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children, in addition to summer camps and expanded learning programs. These programs not only provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, but also offer essential resources such as diapers, wipes, food, and formula to support families in need.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, including a thrilling police K-9 demonstration and a helicopter landing from the New Jersey State Police Aviation Bureau. Additionally, there will be tours of a police car, fire truck, and ambulance, providing a unique opportunity for families to explore emergency vehicles up close.
At the end of the night, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display. This grand finale is made possible by the generous contributions of Canal's Liquor, Glassboro Lumber, and Young Realty.
"Paws for a Cause represents our collective commitment to fostering safer, and stronger Glassboro, where everyone can feel secure and supported.” said retired Glassboro Police Lieutenant and Councilman Tim Brown.
