Glassboro’s Heroes to be Honored with Military Flyover on Memorial Day

Note to Press: the time of flyover is 10:30 am, the parade commences at 10:00 am.

Glassboro, N.J.—The Glassboro Memorial Day Parade Committee is proud to announce that it has been approved for a military flyover to mark this year’s Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 25. F‑16 fighter jets from the New Jersey Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing, based in Atlantic City, are scheduled for 10:30 am to pass over the Glassboro War Memorial in the Town Square at High and Main before continuing along the parade route towards the start.

The Glassboro Memorial Day Parade, a tradition spanning more than a century, remains one of the community’s most cherished patriotic events. Each year, residents gather to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to the nation. The parade features award‑winning string bands, the beloved children’s bike brigade, and numerous military and veteran organizations. Step‑off is at 10:00 a.m. at Lehigh and University, proceeding along Whitney and High Streets and concluding at Academy. A solemn remembrance ceremony will follow in Town Square at Main and High.

“The 177th Fighter Wing is once again honored to provide a military flyover for the Glassboro Memorial Day Parade and several other Memorial Day observances across New Jersey,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Benjamin W. Robbins, commander of the 177th Fighter Wing. “Having had the privilege of flying in the Glassboro event in recent years and serving as the keynote speaker at the ensuing ceremony, I have witnessed firsthand the profound pride, patriotism, and excitement of this community. On this Memorial Day, we remain united by our shared reverence for the sacrifices of those who have gone before us. Today holds deep significance, as it is our opportunity to honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.”
